3 Chords & the Truth Trio

3 Chords & the Truth Trio captures an electric, folkified spirit of the American heartland. A mixture of beat/folk, and non-linear pop rock with a dusting of the blues. Some songs are danceable; some dive into the plight of our modern days. All songs are original arrangements of favorite musicians and original songs written by the trio. The trio includes Tom Ranken on guitars and harmonica, Dustin Russell on drums, and Chet Kane on bass. Just like the songs, the mix of the singing trio is also a mix of unique backgrounds and experience. Tom has played in Seattle bands including Ranken File and Magnolia Dreams, playing in local venues and festivals. Chet Kane played bass in bands in Belltown during the early days of grunge, and recorded his CD - Tears for Columbia - with Glitterhouse Records (former SubPop Europe) in Germany. Dustin is a self-taught singer/drummer and songwriter playing in his first band. The mixture of trio creates a montage of sound.
