Erin Hall with Sundae and Mr. Goessl
Tue, Jul 23, 2019 at 6:30pm
NYC based singer, songwriter and cellist Erin Hall, also known as Erin and Her Cello, will celebrate the release of her new album, Great Blue, with a Tour of the Pacific Northwest— with a sassy performance Seattle at the Jewelbox Theater on Tuesday, July 23rd, with local duo Sundae & Mr. Goessl.
"Sounds like Blossom Dearie fronting They Might Be Giants" (The Philadelphia Inquirer)
Hall has opened for Tig Notaro, the Portland Cello Project, been featured on Broad City Live — but opted to release this new album under her name. Great Blue features more pronounced bass-driven cello lines than her earlier releases, the debut album Erin and Her Cello and Petits Bisous, the sound more introspective and funky, with Hall’s wit and humor figuring prominently on every track. Skillfully blending jazz, blues, funk, french pop, underscored in comedy— Erin's music will leave you tapping your toes and laughing out loud.
Hall will be joined by a trio of her NYC based musicians; Gabe Shuford on keys, Jacquelene Acevedo on percussion & backup vocals, John Bollinger on drums— and Seattle based musician, Peter Daniel, (45th Street Brass Band) on Tenor Saxophone. http://www.erinhallmusic.com
SUNDAE & MR. GOESSL
Sundae + Mr. Goessl features award-winning vocalist Kate Voss (Earshot Magazine's Vocalist of the Year, two-time Seattle-Kobe Vocal Jazz Princess) and tireless virtuoso guitarist, Jason Goessl. This charming wife/husband duo incorporates humor, vintage style, interesting instrumentation, nostalgia and serious chops in their act and were awarded Best Duo of 2017 from Seattle Weekly. Bringing back the sounds from a by-gone era and spreading the joy of music like Johnny Appleseed, this act can be described in a single word: delightful.
